Congrats! Darren McFadden Named Assistant Manager of Arkansas Razorbacks
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Razorbacks legend Darren McFadden is returning to his alma mater in a new role. The former two-time Heisman Trophy finalist and record-setting running back has been named Assistant Manager of the Arkansas Razorbacks football program, bringing a wealth of experience and passion to the team.
A Razorback Legend Returns
McFadden, widely regarded as the greatest player in Arkansas football history, starred for the Razorbacks from 2005 to 2007. During his college career, he rushed for 4,590 yards and 41 touchdowns, won the Doak Walker Award twice (given to the nation’s top running back), and led Arkansas to the 2006 SEC West title. He finished as the Heisman Trophy runner-up in both 2006 and 2007, making him the highest-finishing Razorback in the award’s history.
After his stellar college career, McFadden was selected fourth overall in the 2008 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders. He spent 10 seasons in the NFL, playing for the Raiders and Dallas Cowboys before retiring in 2017.
McFadden’s New Role
As Assistant Manager, McFadden will work closely with the coaching staff, support team operations, and serve as a mentor for current Razorback players. His role will include player development, recruiting assistance, and alumni engagement, helping bridge the past and present of Arkansas football.
