Rahilly, co-owner of the former NASCAR team RahMoc Enterprises, suffered third-degree burns and additional injuries, including lacerations from an exploding sliding glass door during the incident. He was promptly transported to the Wake Forest Baptist Burn Center, where medical professionals anticipate a hospitalization period of at least two months for his recovery.

FDNY Racing, a team with which Rahilly has been associated as a longtime crew chief, expressed their thoughts and prayers for his swift recovery. RahMoc Enterprises, under the leadership of Rahilly and co-owner Butch Mock, competed in NASCAR’s premier Cup Series from 1978 to 1992. The team achieved notable success, securing four race victories with driver Neil Bonnett. In 359 starts, RahMoc Enterprises amassed 36 top-five and 109 top-10 finishes. The team also featured prominent drivers such as Harry Gant, Kyle Petty, Tim Richmond, and Morgan Shepherd. Following the team’s closure, Rahilly returned to his roots as an engine builder, continuing to contribute to the racing industry.
